Community Archiving se pratik kolekte, prezève, epi pataje istwa, memwa, ak materyèl yon kominote, yon travay ki fèt pa kominote a menm pou kominote a menm. Olye pou istwa yon kominote rete sèlman nan men enstitisyon deyò, achiv kominotè mete pouvwa pou rakonte istwa sa yo dirèkteman nan men moun ki viv yo.
CUNY Haitian Studies Institute ap konstwi yon achiv konsa pou selebre, komemore, epi prezève memwa ki gen rapò ak Koup di Mond sa a.
[Enfòmasyon sou achiv la sou entènèt, mansyone lòt koleksyon yo / itilize tèks ki soti nan bwochi achiv la….]
Nou kreye plizyè fason aksesib pou moun patisipe. Nenpòt moun ki enterese, tankou manm kominote ki renmen foutbòl, jounalis ayisyen ki dokimante espò a, fanmi jwè yo, ak òganizasyon kominotè ayisyen yo, kapab enskri pou yon entèvyou atravè Google Form nou an oswa vizite youn nan estasyon entèvyou nou yo nan kèk lokal patikilye. Entèvyou yo kapab fèt tou vityèlman.
Tanpri note nou pa kapab bay patisipan yo konpansasyon pou tan yo, epi pou kounye a nou pa kapab deplase al lakay patisipan yo.
Si patisipe nan yon entèvyou pa pou ou, toujou gen lòt fason pou w enplike w. Pataje pwojè sa a ak rezo ou yo, fè kominote ou a konnen li, oswa konsidere fè yon kontribisyon pou ede nou elaji prezans achiv la nan plis kominote atravè Ayiti ak dyaspora a. Chak jès sipò, kit li gwo kit li piti, ede asire istwa Ayiti nan Koup di Mond lan rakonte nètale pa Ayisyen menm.
Community Archiving is the practice of collecting, preserving, and sharing the stories, memories, and materials of a community led by and for the people whose histories are being documented. Rather than leaving the telling of a community’s story to outside institutions, community archiving places that power in the hands of the community itself.
The CUNY Haitian Studies Institute at Brooklyn College is building such an archive to celebrate, memorialize and preserve memories around this world cup
[Archive web info, mention other collections / use text from archive brochure….]
We have created several accessible pathways for participation. Interested individuals, including community members who love soccer, Haitian journalists who have chronicled the sport, family members of players, and Haitian community organizations, can sign up for an interview using our Google Form or visit one of our interview stations at select locations. Interviews can also be conducted virtually. Please note that we are not able to compensate participants for their time, and we are currently unable to travel to participants’ homes.
If participating in an interview is not for you, there are still ways to get involved. Share this project with your networks, spread the word within your community, or consider making a contribution to help us expand our geographic reach and bring the archive to more communities across Haiti and the diaspora. Every act of support, however big or small, helps ensure that Haiti’s World Cup story is told fully and by Haitians themselves.
